A spokesperson said that that the searches follow Bombay High Court directions asking a case to be registered against 13 entities under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
"Case has been (registered) on the directions of the Bombay High Court u/s. 420, 467, 468, 469, 471 r/w. Sec. 34 IPC against Shri Deepak Dattatray Gadgil, Authorized Signatory M/s. Aryan Infrastructures (a subsidiary of IRB )and 12 others," according to a CBI spokesperson.
Section 420 relates to cheating, while the other sections relate to forgery.
The searches are at the offices and residences of a number of individuals. They include Deepak Dattatray Gadgil, Virendra Mahaiskar MD IRB Infrastructure , Jyoti Kulkarni, Navin Rai, Siraj Bagwan, Anil Vadgama, Dattatray Nathu Mandekar, Nawaj Khan, Nasir Mustaq Khan, Ashwini Kshirsagar, Sitabai Tawre, Laxmibai Warghade, Ramchandra Balghude, Bapudeo Parkhi, Raghunath Deo Parkhi, Babandeo Parkhi and Chabbudeo Parkhi.
