EA Water to expand operations

BS Reporter Chennai
EverythingAboutWater (EA Water Pvt Ltd), a knowledge and marketing solutions provider in the water sector, is looking at extending the number of services it offers from 12 to 20 in the next three years.

"We will provide more customized solutions in the sector as well as diversify into other verticals within the environmental sector. We have allocated around Rs 2 crore for product creation and development during the current financial year," Sunil Ghorawat, managing director, EA Water, said.

"We are also planning to launch an e-magazine catering to the Asian market, after which, we will be extending our services to the Western markets. We are also in the process of setting up a knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) unit in Delhi within a year. The KPO unit will primarily cater to the western market and will start operations with an employee base of 25," Ghorawat added.

The company is also organising its fourth international EverythingAboutWater Expo 2007 in Chenai from March 15-17.

Mentioning that Chennai would be the right place for such an exhibition, Ghorawat noted that in a survey of 27 Asian cities with over one million population each, Chennai emerged the worst in terms of the hours of water availability.

"The present water supply in Chennai is only 650 MLD (million litres per day), against a requirement of 1,470 MLD. Moreover, India's largest desalination plant with a capacity of 100 MLD is coming up in the city," he pointed out.

With a turnover of Rs 5 crore in 2006-2007, EA Water aims to garner Rs 20 crore in another three years.
