Glenmark to market Azathioprine tablets in the US

Glenmark Generics, a subsidiary of pharma major Glenmark, has gained the full marketing rights for distributing Azathioprine 50 mg tablets in the US.

Azathioprine is indicated as an adjunct for the prevention of rejection in kidney transplantation and for the management of active rheumatoid arthritis to reduce signs and symptoms.

According to IMS health, total sales of the tablet stood at $36 million (Rs 180 crore) for the year ended 3030 June 2008.
