Granules, Sonata Soft, Texmaco Q3 results

Granules PAT rises 37%
 
Granules India net profit rose 37.43 per cent to Rs 3.05 crore for the second quarter ended December 31, 2006 against Rs 2.22 crore in the previous corresponding period.
 
The net sales of this pharma formulation intermediates company with complete vertical integration grew 12.98 per cent to Rs 50.21 crore for the quarter under review compared with Rs 44.44 crore last year.
 
For the six months ended December 2006, Granules revenues increased 13 per cent to Rs 95.60 crore over H1FY06. For the same period, net profit grew 21 per cent to Rs 5.08 crore.
 
Speaking on the company's performance, Managing Director Krishna Prasad said, "Our additional investments in the international markets are paying off. Revenues from the EU posted a robust 122 per cent Q-o-Q growth and that of the Asia Pacific region a hefty 153 per cent during the period."
 
Sonata Soft net up 39%
 
Sonata Software net profit jumped 38.67 per cent to Rs 9.86 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2006 from Rs 7.11 crore in the same period a year ago.
 
Its total income rose 7.57 per cent to Rs 45.59 crore against Rs 42.38 crore recorded in the period of the previous year, the company informed the BSE.
 
During the quarter, Sonata Software invested euro 18 million (Rs 103 crore) through its wholly-owned subsidiary Sonata Europe, UK, to acquire 50.1 per cent stake in TUI Infotec GmbH, Germany, it added.
 
Texmaco profit rises 58%
 
The K K Birla group engineering outfit Texmaco witnessed a 58 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 7 crore in the third quarter of the current financial year compared with Rs 4.4 crore in the corresponding period last year. The turnover of the company jumped by 64 per cent to Rs 121.5 crore compared with Rs 74.2 crore in the period under review.
 
Shasun bootmline dips 10%
 
Shasun Chemicals and Drugs' consolidated revenues surged 86.54 per cent to Rs 194.06 crore for the quarter ended December 2006 from Rs 104.03 crore in the previous corresponding period.
 
However, its net profit declined 10.32 per cent to Rs 11.65 crore compared with Rs 12.99 crore last year. Higher revenue growth in CRAM's business through its UK subsidiary Shasun Pharma Solutions contributed significantly to the overall revenue growth.
