GTL net dips 38% to Rs 12 cr

GTL Ltd reported 37.72 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 12.02 crore for the third quarter ended December 2005 as compared with Rs 19.30 crore recorded in the same quarter of the last financial year.

Total income also decreased by 2.58 per cent to Rs 136.58 crore from Rs 140.21 crore earned in the year-ago period, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The group's consolidated net profit also declined by 51.66 per cent to Rs 12.52 crore for the quarter ended December 2005 as compared with Rs 25.9 crore recorded in the year-ago period. Total income of the group also decreased by 9.28 per cent and was Rs 180.48 crore from Rs 198.95 crore last year.
