Hidesign in JV with Dubai firm

Hidesign, a leather brand, is increasing its retail footprint in the west Asia. The company has formed a joint venture with Dubai-based Jashanmal National Company with an initial outlay of Arab Emirates dirham 1 million.
 
Hidesign will have a 49 per cent stake in the proposed joint venture and will contribute to the entity in the form of its vast range of products and brand name. Jashanmal, on its part, will utilise its extensive network and expertise in marketing the Hidesign products in the west Asia.
 
In a press statement Kunal R Sachdev, CEO, Hidesign, said, "Hidesign has been enthusiastic in scaling up its operations in the international arena. Dubai has emerged as a favourite shopping destination over the years. With immense growth opportunities and high level of brand awareness among the consumers, it is a perfect time for Hidesign to ramp up its operations in the West Asia."
 
He further added, "Under the new set up, Hidesign intends to open two exclusive stores in the region. We are also looking at expanding our presence through similar tie-ups in other regions as well."
 
Apart from the two exclusive stores, Hidesign products will also be retailed through the Jashanmal stores in the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar.
 
At present, Hidesign has a presence in 18 countries in Europe, America, Asia, Africa and Australia. It is also available at premium international stores like House of Fraser, John Lewis, Magasin Du Nord, Selfridges.
