J B Chem to focus on overseas business

The Bharuch-based J B Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Ltd (JBCPL) has identified overseas business as its growth driver in the future and has chalked out plans to strengthen its presence in the international markets.
 
The company has also appointed Nirav Mody as vice-president, strategic marketing (international).
 
Mody's appointment was made at the company's annual general meeting held on July 13.
 
With a focus on overseas markets, JBCPL saw 52 per cent of its total revenues coming from exports to over 50 countries, with a strong position in Russia and CIS countries.
 
Some JBCPL brands like Doktor Mom lozenges, Rhinza, Metrolgyl IV and Metrogyl Denta Gel enjoy a strong position in other countries. JBCPL's 100 per cent export-oriented unit for manufacturing Doktor Mom Lozenges is located at Daman.
 
JBCPL, a flagship company of the Unique Group, has been in the process of restructuring its international pharmaceutical business for accelerated sales growth.
 
Towards achieving this objective, JBCPL has identified the option of imparting a higher level of professionalism both at corporate and field level, as one of the key drivers for growth.
 
"On the strength of our achievements and some important milestones, we are strongly positioned to harness global opportunities by further building and strengthening our business, which will be a key to our future growth as a global company," said J B Mody, chairman and managing director of JBCPL at the 28th AGM of the company held on Tuesday.
 
The company has also formed a joint venture - NeoJB LLC - with Spectrum Pharmaceuticals Inc for marketing generic products in the US.
 
Its tablet manufacturing facilities and two Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient facilities at Panoli in Bharuch district also are USFDA approved, thus ensuring faster entry into foreign markets.
 
Nirav Mody's responsibilities will include identifying new export markets, business development opportunities and maximising profit potential of the company's exports.
 
JBCPL is a leading manufacturer and exporter of pharma products.
 
Having worked with Rodman and Renshaw, a boutique investment bank in equity research in US, Nirav Mody been involved in market and company research.
 
He has also done internships with reputed investment banks like Salomon Smith Barney, New York, and DSP Merill Lynch, India.
 
Mody completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Carnegie University, Pittsburgh, US, with a specialisation in Finance and Management Information Systems.
