Nalco staff plan to halt ops protesting stake dilution

Various staff organisations of National Aluminium Company (Nalco) are planning to halt mining, alumina and aluminium production and power generation operation of the state-run company tomorrow protesting against the recent decision of stake dilution by the central government.

As per a decision taken in the Central Coordination Committee, comprising 26 staff unions and three officers associations of Nalco, spread across Damanjodi, Angul and Bhubaneswar, no employee will join their respective offices on Saturday.

“We have decided that no staff will be present at their offices, be it mining site at Damanjodi, smelter unit at Angul or corporate office at Bhubaneswar for one day.

 

We might intensify the protest,” said B K Parida, an official of the committee.
