Nestle opens new plant in Karnataka, invests Rs 360 cr

Nestle India, the fast moving consumer goods company, today inaugurated new manufacturing plant at Nanjangud in Mysore district, about 170 kms from here. The company has invested Rs 360 crore to set up the new plant, which will manufacture a range of culinary products starting from noodles.

Paul Bulke, chief executive officer, Nestle S.A. inaugurated the plant in the presence of Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and other government officials, a company spokesperson said.

The company plans to manufacture a wide range of its culinary products like ketchups, pasta, noodles among other things at this plant. Nestle already have a plant at Nanjangud for processing coffee.

The company had signed a memorandum of understanding with the state government during the global investors meet in June 2010. Incidentally, Nestle is the first company to have completed its investment programme as announced at the investors meet last year.
