Philips IT opens centre in Bangalore

| Philips IT, the technology wing of electronics major Philips, has opened its business applications services centre at the Philips Innovation Campus in Bangalore. It will focus on growth in technical and functional SAP competencies. |
| "The Philips Business Applications Services (P-BAS) centre is in line with the Philips global IT outsourcing strategy. It will continue to work with the existing vendor base. It will play a key role in IT solutions and IT service delivery for Philips worldwide," said Andreas Schumm, CEO, P-BAS. |
| Philips IT has around 350 employees working at different vendor locations in Bangalore, Mumbai and Hyderabad. |
| The P-BAS centre in Bangalore will hire around 100 employees and participate in the full stack of managed operations, functional application management and new projects like new dimension products for SAP. |
| A vast amount of work from P-BAS, Eindhoven, will be transferred to the Bangalore centre as part of this strategy. |
| "The P-BAS will also provide enterprise resource planning services to Philips' products divisions and partners," Schumm added. |
