Rhenus Logistics launches fleet for Shell India

Steps into transportation of automobile fuels, adding to its expertise in the area of transportation of lubricants and petrochemicals in India

Rhenus Logistics India, the Indian arm of the global Rhenus Group, has announced signing an agreement with Shell India, to launch a fleet of specialised tankers for transportation of fuel for Shell India. 

With this, Rhenus India has stepped into transportation of automobile fuels, adding to its expertise in the area of transportation of lubricants and petrochemicals in India.

The company has launched a fleet of customised tankers having the latest design-safety standards. Uwe Oemmelen, board member, Rhenu sand; Vivek Arya, managing director, Rhenus India, flagged off the tankers. Oemmelen said, at present the company's key customers include Total and Castrol.
 

The partnership with Shell India will open doors for the company to work with the Indian oil and gas companies, besides also help strengthen its footprint in India. With the diesel deregulation, it will only increase movements of companies like Shell, he said.

Rhenus India has invested in procuring and customising the fleet of 35 tankers, which will transport fuel for Shell India, starting in the state of Karnataka.

The new fleet is equipped with ABS-fitted disc brakes, three point inertia seatbelts, in-cabin climate control, 2x10 DCP fire extinguishers, GPS among others.
