RTC launches 30 biodiesel buses

Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has launched 30 biodiesel buses to mark the World Environment Day on Monday. Fifteen of these buses will run in Hyderabad alone.

N Satish Kumar, managing director of Southern Online Bio Technonogies Ltd, who is supplying biodiesel to RTC, said these buses would be operated on three blends "� B5, B 10 and B 20.

With emissions dropping by 60 per cent and mileage being similar to that of regular diesel, APSRTC will run more buses on various blends and finally adopt a blend which would be best suited, he said.
