SP Jain institutes supply-chain award

Event to showcase supply-chain management success stories

The SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) is hosting the first annual 'SPJIMR Supply-Chain Excellence Awards' in association with logistics firm DHL.
 
The annual event is being held to recognise supply-chain initiatives and showcase supply-chain management (SCM) success stories in India.
 
Participation is open to corporates, including public, private, government and non-government organisations.
 
The participants will need to submit a paper on any supply-chain initiative that has made a significant difference to the performance of the company.
 
The participating teams will need to provide a background about the organisation, the issue and opportunity in consideration, the supply-chain management initiative and its rationale; followed by a description of the implementation process.
 
The paper should also give the results and benefits and an analysis of the impact made by the initiative over and above the influencing factors.
 
The analysis should provide a comparison of the before and after situation.
 
The last date for receipt of entries by post and e-mail is July 10. The entries received by SPJIMR will be screened and 3-5 entries will be short-listed.
 
The short-listed teams will be required to make their presentations at the annual integrated supply chain management meet in the presence of the panel of judges at the institute on August 21.
 
The jury will include distinguished leaders from industry and academia like Prof G Raghuram (IIM - Ahmedabad), KK Iyer (partner, Accenture, Sankalp Saxena (MD and senior vice-president, I2 Technologies-India), R Ramakrishnan (director, SAP), Chris Callen (country manager, DHL) and Jamshed Modi (professor of operations, SPJIMR).
 
The team selected by the Jury will be awarded the SPJIMR Supply Chain Excellence Trophy and a cash prize of Rs 51,000. The team coming second will be given a cash prize of Rs 21,000 and certificates. All short-listed entries would be compiled into a publication.
