States Can Borrow Rs 5,000 Crore More From Open Market

In a clear indication of worsening finances, the Centre has decided to allow states to borrow Rs 5,000 crore more from the open market in the current fiscal. The move will also relieve the Centre from having to immediately provide the remaining part of the Budget allocation for the states in the current fiscal.
This follows close on the heels of the Union Cabinet
