Sterlite net down 55% to Rs 598 crore

Sterlite Industries recorded a net profit of Rs 598 crore for the quarter ending December 2008, a 55 per cent decline over the corresponding period of the last fiscal. The decline was attributed to a fall in metal prices following the global credit crisis and economic slowdown.
