Tata Housing signs MoU with National Safety Council
Move made to create awareness about environment, health, safety (EHS) in the real estate industry

Tata Housing has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the National Safety Council of India (NSC) to create awareness about environment, health and safety (EHS) in the real estate industry.
The main objective of the MoU will include exchange of technical expertise between two organizations and working together to make EHS a norm for the real estate industry, a statement from Tata Housing said.
The initiatives that will be taken under the MoU include co-production of multilingual high impact EHS films and other training aids customized to workforce requirements, development of an EHS audit rating system for the real estate projects amongst others.

The MOU was signed between Brotin Banerjee, MD and CEO Tata Housing and V B Sant, Director General, National Safety Council of India.
“We are partnering with National Safety Council of India (NSC) to institutionalize occupational health standards which will help to inculcate a safety culture within the real estate sector,” Banerjee said.
A recent research suggests the average Fatal Accident Frequency Rate (FAFR) in Indian construction sector is 15.8 for 1000 employees as against 0.23 in the USA.
