Vaishnovi scales up Hyd operations

Chennai-based Vaishnovi Engineers, a marketeer of imported earth moving equipment, has scaled up operations of its Hyderabad centre.
With massive irrigation projects giving an impetus to the earthmoving industry, Vaishnovi plans to give more thrust on the Andhra Pradesh market and has commenced operations at a bigger work yard with workshop and after sales services.
The firm imports sparingly used earthmoving equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, motor graders, cranes, forklifts, wheel loaders and rock breakers from Japan and Singapore and sells them in the Indian market.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday, N Raghav Reddy, managing director, Vaishnovi Engineers, said, "There is a spurt in construction and infrastructure development activity in the state. To give more thrust to the market in Andhra Pradesh, we are commencing operations at a bigger work yard from today." We import sparingly used equipment manufactured by companies such as Hitachi and Komatsu from Japan and Singapore and sell them at about 50 per cent the original cost, Reddy said.
Vaishnovi sold 430 units during the last financial year and targets to sell at least 1000 in the next fiscal. About 80 per cent of the firm's clientele include small and medium entrepreneurs.
"We have sold equipment to IVRCL and sub-contractors to leading firms such as L&T and Maytas. But, our focus is on the small and medium enterprises. Most of our clients are repeated customers." We sold 430 machines in the last one year to about 175 clients, Reddy said.
Vaishnovi, established in 1997, has branches in Bangalore, Mysore, Pondicherry, Salem, Trivandrum and Port Blair besides Visakhapatnam, Nellore and Cuddapah in Andhra Pradesh.
As part of its next phase of expansion, the company plans to open branches at Vijayawada, Nizamabad, Madurai, Coimbatore, Kochi, Kozikhode, Hubli and Mangalore.
