DATA STORY: India's Covid-19 tally tops 10 mn; recovery rate at 95.46%

India on Friday conducted 1,172,168 coronavirus tests, taking the total count of tests conducted so far in the country to 160,090,814. The test positivity rate recorded was 2.1%

India on Saturday reported a net reduction of 5,080 to bring its count of active coronavirus cases down to 308,751, the lowest level since July 13. With a continuous trend of daily reductions, India’s share of global active coronavirus cases is down at 1.47 per cent (one in 68). The country added 25,152 cases to take its total caseload beyond the 10-million mark, at 10,004,599. And with 347 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 145,136, or 1.45 per cent of total confirmed infections.
 
The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India now stands at 9,550,712 – or 95.46
