DATA STORY: India's Covid recovery rate again goes past 90% after 45 days

India has so far administered 202,695,874 vaccine doses. That is 740.60 per cent of its total caseload, and 14.56 per cent of its population

India on Thursday reported a net reduction of 75,684 in active coronavirus cases to take its count to 2,419,907. India’s share of global active coronavirus cases now stands at 16.41 per cent (one in 5). The country is second among the most affected countries by active cases. On Thursday, it added 211,298 cases to take its total caseload to 27,369,093. And, with 3,847 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 315,235, or 1.15 per cent of total confirmed infections.
 
With 1,885,805 more Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on Wednesday, India’s total count of vaccine shots so far reached 202,695,874.
