In a state cabinet meeting headed by the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, all the cabinet members have decided to donate their one month salary allowances to the CM's relief fund for support of flood victims in Uttarakhand.
Talking further about the donation pledge, state government spokespersons finance minister Nitin Patel and energy minister Saurabh Patel said that the Government of Gujarat will provide assistance of Rs 5 Lakh each to the families of military jawans died in helicopter crash during relief operation in Uttarakhand
An IAF helicopter had crashed in Uttarakhand during relief work with around 19 people including military jawans feared dead.
Modi also saluted the jawans for their exemplary act of sacrifice.
