Kottayam trader abducted in Arunachal Pradesh

A prominent trader was kidnapped by armedmiscreants from his residence at Naharlagun on Thursday.
The police said on Friday that K P Chako, who runs a bakery chain in the state capital, was dragged from his residence by unidentified persons who came in a vehicle registered in Assam, said Capital Superintendent of Police (SP), Seiju P Kuruvilla.
Chako was fired upon when he refused to accompany the persons.He was forced inside a car parked near the building along the helipad and whisked away, the SP said. The miscreants also took away his car, he added.

According to the SP, a team of police persons rushed to the spot to find a pool of blood on the first floor of the building and launched a search operation.
Both the abandoned vehicles were recovered from Hoj-Potin road, he added. Chako who hails from Kottayam district of Kerala was a trader working for the last 30 years in the state capital.
In a separate incident, the vehicle of a North East television correspondent was stolen in early hours on Friday, the police said.
Yuvraj Mehta, the correspondent, had parked his car in front of The Arunachal Times office, police said.
An FIR was lodged at Itanagar police station and a manhunt has been started to nab the thieves.
Their images were captured in the CCTV cameras installed in the newspaper office, the sources added.
