A six-member team of Russian forest officers is on a visit to Panna district in Madhya Pradesh to study all aspects of tiger management at the Tiger Reserve there.

The team arrived in Panna yesterday as part of the 'Tiger Watch Programme' of Global Tiger Forum, an official release said today.

Earlier, a foreign study team had visited the Reserve for three days in 2012 under World Bank's Tiger Initiative Programme.

During their visit, the Russian team will study reintroduction of tigers in the reserve under Tiger Re-introduction Project.

The project also encompasses radio telemetry monitoring, giving anaesthesia to tigers, radio collaring, issues concerning wildlife health, sign survey and wildlife protection through separate discussions with villagers.
