Untimely rains destroy crop in Chhattisgarh

The untimely rains that lashed entire Chhattisgarh had started showing its impact even as the state government had decided to release a huge amount to pay compensation to the farmers; underlining the situation was no normal. “The state government has decided to release a sum of Rs 200 crore to the districts to pay compensation to the farmers as soon as the crop assessment report to evaluate the loss was finalized,” a government spokesperson said.
