40 Indian Firms To Attend Durban Expo

Union minister of state for small-scale industries (SSI) Vasundhara Raje will inaugurate 'Enterprise India 2001' in Durban on September 19. The three-day event, being organised jointly by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Small Industries Development Bank of India, would focus on the capabilities of the Indian small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Over 40 Indian SMEs from electrical & electronics, textiles, garments, toys, food processing, pharmaceutical and hand tools sectors would participate in the meet, says a CII release today. The show, it says, will further strengthen the Indo-African cooperation, which had witnessed a 25 per cent growth in bilateral trade from $1,739.60 million in 1998-99 to $2,164.28 million in 1999-2000. The first Enterprise India show was organised by CII in last June in Durban.
