Centre had made Transit camp suggestion: BJP

"The Centre had made this suggestion in 2007," said party spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad in Delhi today.
The Rajasthan government, rocked by nine serial blasts in Jaipur, had earlier said that all illegal Bangladeshi migrants would be deported from the state as Bangladesh based militant group Harkat ul Jihadi Islam (HUJI) had been pointed out as the group behind the blast.
According to sources, the number of illegal Bangladeshi migrants in Jaipur alone is numbered at around 20,000.

"The state government in itself has no powers under the Foreigners Act to deport any illegal immigrants, all such power lies with the Centre, so obviously if the state government is thinking of putting illegal immigrants in transit camps it is under advisement from the Centre," said Prasad.
Prasad also hinted that a separate resolution on terrorism and internal security would be tabled in the upcoming BJP national executive in Jaipur.
The BJP also raised a red flag over the upcoming fourth anniversary celebrations of the UPA government.
"Ever since the UPA has come to power, we have seen that UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi's photographs are used in any official advertisement of any milestone of the government. Need we remind the government that Mrs Gandhi holds a political post and not a governmental one. We fear that on May 22 again we will see the shameful spectacle of the Prime Minister being dwarfed in government advertisements," he added.
He said that BJP protests the fact that these advertisements have been appearing for some time. "We demand that the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh instruct relevant departments that such a travesty should not occur," he added.
