Chhattisgarh govt gives nod to extension centre of IIT Raipur

Chhattisgarh government cleared the deck for the creation of an extension centre of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Raipur.
“The state cabinet meeting held here on Tuesday morning approved the proposal for setting up IIT Kharagpur’s Extention Centre here in Raipur,” a government spokesperson said. The technical education department of the state government will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Kharagpur. The Centre would facilitate the engineering teachers in Chhattisgarh to get the training from the faculty at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. Besides Chhattisgarh’s capital city, the Board of Governors of IIT Kharagpur in January this year has approved the creation of an Extension Centre at Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
