Raising a point of order, Congress Chief Whip Manas Bhunia said no member could bring allegations against MPs in such a way.
Bhuniya demanded the Deputy Speaker that Khatun should give documents in support of her allegation or apologise and her statement be expunged.
Expressing support to Khatun, RSP leader Tapan Hoingre claimed there was enough evidence on horse trading by Congress leaders.
Ruling out Bhuniya's demand, the Deputy Speaker said Khatun was quoting newspapers.
The Congress bench immediately protested this saying Khatun did not attribute her remarks to reports in the media and walked out of the House till the recess.
