CPM reaction

| The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has opposed the Union Cabinet's decision to divest 10 per cent of the government's stake in Nalco and Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC). |
| According to senior CPM leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sitaram Yechury, the CPM has been opposing the move in all the Left-UPA Coordination Committee meetings. |
| "We have been opposing this kind of divestment and will continue to do so. We have called a meeting of the party leaders to decide what form our opposition will take," he said. |
