Delay in building Shimla parking lots

Even though the Himachal Pradesh government has signed an agreement six months ago with two private companies to build the much needed three parking lots in Shimla in the public-private participation (PPP) mode, the projects seems to be mired in circumstances that would leaad to further delay.
According to the agreement, construction work was to start within three months after signing of the deal. And the three multi-storeyed parking areas are to be completed in 18 months which is unlikely to happen now, say many.
According to the Infrastructure Development Board officials the state government has not yet handed over land near the HPTDC lift in downtown Shimla where one of the parking lots is to come up.
While the maps of the the two other parking projects at Chotta Shimla and Sanjauli are yet to be approved by the government.
The Kolkata based Tantia Construction company had bagged two of the projects while Ess and Ess is to build the parking near the HPTDC lift.
