Dow ends up 21pts; ADRs drop

The US indices recovered in late trade on Monday. The Dow Jones industrial average moved up 21 points to 11,972. The Nasdaq dropped 35 points to 2,177.

Indian ADRs ended on a weak note. ICICI Bank slumped almost 13% to $35.16, and HDFC Bank plunged 7.5% to $88.06. Satyam tumbled over 5% to $20.94. Patni Computers shed 4.6% at $10.20, and Sterlite dropped 3.6% to $18.26. Infosys and Tata Motors were down nearly 3% each to $33.01 and $14.98, respectively.
