Enriched boric plant to come up in Khammam district

The north Telangana region is set to witness a hectic industrial activity. The region will see as many as 43 industrial units coming up in a few years.
 
Of these, a Rs 10.75-crore enriched boric acid plant is expected to come up in Aswapuram village of Khammam district within three years. The plant is proposed to be built under the aegis of heavy water plant, Manuguru, while the promoter is the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India.
 
Coal mining expansion is set to occupy a prime slot in the region. In Karimnagar district alone three mining units are in the pipeline "� one at Adreyala in Kamanpur mandal at a proposed investment of Rs 442 crore, Jallaram Shaft project at Vakilpalli village at a cost of Rs 525.42 crore and the other at Vakilpalli village at an estimated investment of Rs 19.40 crore.
 
Besides these proposals, eight mining units of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) are set to become operational in the next few years.
 
These include a Rs 43.44-crore unit in Kothagudem, Rs 16.92-crore unit in Manuguru of Khammam district, Rs 307.84-crore unit in Akellapally in Bellampally mandal, Rs 48.68-crore unit in Dorli of Tiryani mandal, Rs 47.67-crore open cast unit in Danthalpalli, Rs 26.42 crore open cast unit in Srirampur, and Rs 39.48-crore unit and Rs 12.80-crore open cast mine in Abbapur in Tandur mandal.
 
According to Warangal district industries department general manager M Lakshmaiah, the region would see development of industries worth Rs 2,120 crore, which also includes a leather plant.
 
He said the proposed Rs 2,103-crore APGenco-sponsored thermal power station would be the biggest employment generating unit in this region.
 
The region is also promoting a ferro-manganese, ferro-silicon and silico-manganese project at an investment of Rs 120 crore in the private sector in Jaganathpur village of Sirpur Kagaznagar mandal during the current year.
 
A similar unit is also likely to come up at Paloncha town in Khammam district at a cost of Rs 26.23 crore. Apart from these, Tribal Power Company Limited is planning to set up two units at Chintur mandal of Khammam district.
