Speaking at the third SME Sammelan 2016 on 'Financial Opportunities and Cluster Development", state finance minister Saurabh Patel announced the same while adding that to support the MSMEs in the state, government has decided to provide such multi-storied building with ready infrastructure so that it becomes easy for them to start industry. The SME Sammelan was organised by Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham).
The state government has identified 10 such GIDCs including Sanand, Chatral, Vapi, Umargam, Kathwada, Ankleshwar, Lodhika, Gandhinagar, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar where multi storied building will be built for the MSMEs.
"Buying a land and setting up entire units with all the utilities are quite costly. Everyone may not be able to bear the cost, especially MSME. Hence, the multi storied sheds concept at the developed GIDCs will provide ready infrastructure to small units," said Patel.
According to GIDC officials it will reduce overall cost of the project when any small unit sets up industry at such premises. Government will provide space both on rental and ownership basis. Moreover, government is also going to ease exit policy for MSMEs.
Elaborating on the same, Manoj Aggarwal, vice chairman and managing director of GIDC said, "Small units can own the space or they can take it on rent also. It will be on a plug and play basis, wherein small and medium industries would be required to simply come and start their businesses, with all supportive infrastructure being readily available there."
