Farmers' coop posts record net

The Mangalore Agriculturists' Sahakari Sangha (MASS) has registered an all-time high net profit of Rs 8.12 lakh during the last fiscal. It has procured 9,686 quintals of arecanut worth Rs 6.52 crore and 94.19 quintals of pepper worth Rs 5.8 lakh last fiscal year.
 
It has sold in sachets 11,375 quintals of arecanut worth Rs 7.97 crore and 33.82 quintals of pepper worth Rs 2.38 lakh.
 
According to Shridhar G Bhide, president of MASS, the co-operative plans to market honey under MASS brand which would be procured from South Kanara Bee-keepers Co-operative Society in Puttur.
