Geelani talks for UN resolution on J&K

Press Trust Of India Srinagar
Toughening its stand, the hardline faction of Hurriyat Conference today said the solution of Kashmir issue lies only in the implementation of the UN resolution and rejected autonomy, self governance, soft borders or elections as any answer to the problem.

"The solution of Kashmir issue lies in the implementation of the UN resolutions. Autonomy, self-governance, bus-service (between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad), soft borders or elections cannot resolve the dispute," Geelani said addressing a public meeting organised by his party 'tehreek-e-hurriyat' here and pledged that he will not take part in any assembly or parliament polls.

Apparently referring to the moderate faction of the amalgam, the firebrand leader said "let us pledge not to support those who have showed their willingness to enter into bilateral dialogue and ready to accept autonomy, self-governance and soft borders as a possible solution to the Kashmir issue".
