The Maharashtra government is expecting MoUs pledging Rs 15,000-crore investments in Vidarbha to be signed during an upcoming event here.

'Advantage Vidarbha 2013', a two-day event to be held here on February 25-26, is aimed at promoting the region in Eastern Maharashtra as an investment destination. The conference is likely to attract investments to the tune of about Rs 15,000 crore, Shivajirao Moghe, state Social Justice Minister, told reporters. The agencies involved in hosting the prestigious event are in the process of preparing memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with industrial houses, he said. Apex business chamber FICCI and Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) are in touch with corporate houses and a clear picture about the proposed investments will emerge early next week, the Minister said.

The conference is being organised in association with Government agencies like MIDC, Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC), MTDC, MHADA and CIDCO.
