India's best sarees under one roof

As part of its 60th year celebrations, the Kochi-based saree retail major, Jayalakshmi Silks, has lined up a unique show of sarees from all across the country under a single roof.

Titled, 'India Under One Roof', Jayalakshmi has put on show sarees, specially handpicked from the finest weavers of India, a release said. The highlights of this collection include, artfully crafted rare Manipur sarees, Baluchari sarees from Kolkata, traditional Bengal handloom sarees, Orissa's Bomkai silk and cottons sarees, Cotta and Bandhni sarees of Rajasthan, Chanderi cotton sarees from Madhya Pradesh and celebrated Banarasi silk from Uttar Pradesh, it added.

To provide the collection with a southern flavour, Jayalakshmi has also brought in Pochampally, Gadwal silks and Venkitgiri, Manglagiri cottons of Andhra Pradesh, Kanchipuram silks and cottons, Nagamu cottons from Tamil Nadu and the traditional Kerala Kasavu sarees. The retail giant, located on Kochi 's MG Road, has already earned a name as one among the ultimate saree destinations.

According to Narayana Kamath, managing partner, Jayalakshmi Silks , "India Under One Roof" offers a one-stop-shop for India 's best sarees.
