Inflation steady at 5.16%

Inflation based on the wholesale price index (WPI) was steady at 5.16% for the week ended October  7 - unchanged from the previous week's level as the effect of lower food prices was neutralised by higher fuel and manufactured product prices.

The inflation rate was 4.88% during the corresponding week of the previous year.
