JNNURM fund to Rs 180 crore Orissa project

The Government of India has so far provided Rs 180.84 crore to the Orissa government under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission Plan (JNNURM).

The JNNURM scheme is currently being implemented in two cities of the state- Bhubaneswar and Puri, state minister for housing and urban development Badri Narayan Patra informed the state legislative assembly.

Under this scheme, a total of 2153 slum dwellers would be compensated.

The minister pointed out that the JNNURM scheme is not being implemented in Cuttack, Instead, the state government had submitted a detailed project to the Centre for construction of 456 houses for slum dwellers in Cuttack at a cost of Rs 16.98 crore under the Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP).

 

The Centre has approved the report and has already released Rs 4.72 crore in the first phase.
