State-owned trading firm MMTC has invited bids for the sale of 2,000 tonne of pulses.
The last date for submission of bids is July 20 and a decision on awarding the contract will be taken on the same day, the company said in a notice on its website.
The company is putting 2,000 tonne of red lentils on sale, currently lying at godowns in Kolkata. The pulses are of the crop year 2009 and of Canadian and/or Australian origin.
Bids have been called for a minimum quantity of 250 tonne and in multiples of 250 tonne thereafter, it added.
PEC, MMTC and other state-run trading agencies like STC import different varieties of pulses on behalf of the government to augment domestic supply.
