More liquidity enhancing measures to be announced: FM

Finance Minister P Chidambaram today said more measures will be announced shortly to enhance liquidity in the banking system in India. "We are working on more measures that will infuse liquidity, make credit intermediation smoother and increase the confidence of depositors and investors. We hope to be able to announce them shortly," Chidambaram said.

The finance minister also said he had two meetings with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over the weekend. "Co-ordinated efforts will result in action," Chidambaram said.
