No to PM's suggestion for Federal Bureau

"There is no necessity for setting up an agency like Federal Bureau of Investigation as terrorism can be handled only through effective policing, maintaining social and communal harmony and eliminating unnecessary fears people carry in their minds against each other," Kumar told reporters on the sidelines of his favourite 'Janata Darbar' programme.
"I disagree with any such idea as it can't be a solution to tackling terrorism," the chief minister said when his reaction was sought to the PM's reported suggestion for raising a separate investigation bureau to handle terror-related cases.
"Where was the problem in the investigation by the existing agencies in the states?," Kumar asked and called for greater cooperation between the Centre and states for effective policing to rein in incidents of terror.
The "atmosphere of internal security has deteriorated," he said and added that people in the country must remain united and maintain social and communal harmony. "There should not be a panic reaction to the assault of terrorists," Kumar said and advised the Prime Minister to take the leaders of all political parties into confidence on the issue.
