Oil dips to $57.01/bl

Global crude oil prices receded after rising sharply in the intra-day trades on Monday. After touching a new peak of $58.28 a barrel, the Nymex U.S. light crude oil for May delivery dropped 26 cents to close at $57.01 per barrel.

In the metal segment, the Comex gold declined $2.30 to settle at $426 an ounce.
