PHD Chamber to hold 'Made in Punjab' show abroad

Buoyed by the response from the fifth edition of PHD-Punjab International Trade Expo PITEX 2010, Progress, Harmony, and Development (PHD) Chamber is planning to take this Expo to the next level by organising a “Made in Punjab” show abroad. This was stated by Rajiv Bali, Chairman Punjab Committee, in an interaction with Business Standard at the inaugural ceremony of PITEX 2010 in Amritsar today.
He added that the fair would benefit the Punjab entrepreneurs. It is worth noting that the fifth edition of PHD-Punjab International Trade Expo PITEX 2010 received massive response from the exhibitors nationally and internationally. This year eight countries namely Thailand, Egypt, Pakistan, Finland, Ethiopia etc are participating in the fair. According to the officials the participation is 70 per cent more than last year. Last year, the fair attracted business queries worth Rs 200 crore and this year the chamber is expecting 25-30 per cent increase in the queries. Also, more than 2.5 lakh visitors had thronged the fair last year and a better response is expected this time.
He shared this time delegations from five Chambers of commerce and industry including the Lahore, Rawalpindi , Sheikhupura, Islamabad and the Attock Chamber are participating in the Trade Expo.
