Production hit

Production of aluminium and alumina at Nalco's two facilities at Angul and Damanjodi in Orissa was affected today due to a bandh called by various political parties and citizens' groups.

"Production in both alumina and mining units at Damanjodi has stopped. The employees could not get in due to the dawn-to-dusk bandh call. We are going to shut down the operation for 12 hours," Nalco general manager (operation and maintenance) G K Behera said.
