Suvarna Karnataka celebration

| As part of the Suvarna Karnataka celebration, the state government has chosen 224 villages in each assembly constituency to be developed under the Kugrama-Suvarna Grama Yojana (KSGY). |
| Minister for rural development and panchayat raj Basavaraj Horatti inaugurated the programme at Kongawad village in Navalgund taluk in Dharwad district. |
| The village chosen will be developed at a cost of Rs 20 lakh. The blueprint for providing the basic infrastructure has been prepared and work will be completed in two years. The state government has already released Rs 5 lakh to each of the chosen village. The scheme will be implemented through NGOs. |
| Basavaraj Horatti said that the villages that lacked basic amenities have been chosen for implementing the scheme. Five villages in Dharwad district "" Hindasgeri, Agrahara Timmasagar, B Aralikatti, Chikkagunjihala and Kongawad - have been chosen for the project. |
