UK keen to partner Kerala in healthcare

Britain will strengthen its ties with Kerala in the healthcare sector by forming academic and research partnership with various universities, colleges and companies. Anna Sourby, health minister of UK, invited key universities, colleges and companies here to look to the UK for partnerships in education, research, training, equipment and technology. A British healthcare delegation led by Sourby called on the chief minister Oommen Chandy on Tuesday. The UK minister and the chief minister also jointly launched a booklet, ‘Quality standard for post-partum haemorrhage and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy’. This is the product of a partnership with the Kerala government, National Rural Health Mission, Kerala Federation of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the departments of Health Services and Medical education.
