Valley Residents Resent Crackdown

Crackdown operations being carried out in sub-zero temperatures are turning the winter of hope into a winter of discontent for the Valley's residents.

While the people are criticising the operations, Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah expresses helplessness saying that as long as the secessionists continue to hide in the houses of the innocents, such operations are unavoidable. I can only regret the inconvenience.

There has been an increase in the number of crackdown operations across the valley, especially after the recent meetings of the reconstituted Unified Command.

The residents of Srinagar city are complaining that they have to wait in the open for hours during search operations and that they are not permitted to even carry the traditional
