Hyderabad-headquartered AP Mahesh Co-operative Urban Bank has deployed the VMware Zimbra collaboration suite - an enterprise-class email, calendar and collaboration solution to replace its existing messaging solution that was growing complex to manage.
The bank has deployed the technology across its 39 branches pan-India.
"With the growth in operational activities and growing complexity with limited support, administering multiple mail servers for the bank’s branches was a major challenge. We have deployed this solution to address the challenges we are facing with our existing mail environment," said Umesh Asawa, managing director and chief executive, AP Mahesh Bank.
The move to the Zimbra platform would help in saving capital and operational expenses without compromising functionality and help in improving performance, he added.
Built on the power of VMware’s virtualization and cloud expertise, Zimbra is designed to help end users more efficient by connecting them with their data while providing IT departments a simple way to manage the transition to a public or private cloud and help deliver the benefits promised by the post-PC era.
Zimbra Collaboration Suite’s advanced features, browser-based interface and open source integration can help organizations significantly reduce costs and drive collaboration and productivity amongst employees, said Pravin Mohite, chief executive of Olive Solutions Private Limited, a Hyderabad-based VMware partner that led the deployment at AP Mahesh Bank.
