Bahrain's leading retail and commercial banking company BBK has opened a branch in Kochi, its third in India, to cater to a variety of needs of non-resident Indians. The bank offers personalised banking, equity broking and wealth management services, it said.
It also offers facilities to corporate customers including small to medium enterprises (SMEs). "India has enormous growth potential and we anticipate new opportunities to leverage our GCC presence there and to capitalise on trade flows and money transfers between India and the GCC," said A Karim Bucheery, a bank official.
In 2012, the Reserve Bank of India had granted BBK the license to operate its third branch in the country. BBK has a presence in India since 1985 with opening of its first branch in Mumbai followed by Hyderabad.
