State-run Central Bank of India on Monday posted 9.67 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 112.87 crore for the July-September quarter. The bank had reported Rs 102.91 crore net profit in the corresponding period last year.
In a regulatory filing, it said total income increased to Rs 7,104 crore during the quarter under review from Rs 7,021 crore in the second quarter ended September 2014.
However, gross non-performing assets (NPAs) increased to 6.86 per cent of advances in the second quarter of 2015-16 from 6.14 per cent in the corresponding period of FY15. Net NPA, too, was high at 3.83 per cent compared with 3.38 per cent a year ago.
